Most of you know Chris Idso faced and beat colon cancer two years ago. Well, his stinky colon is rebelling again. Chris had to call 911 for himself in excruciating pain due to a perforated colon. He took an ambulance and has spent multiple days in ICU because of an emergency surgery due to peritonitis infection. His asthma hasn't helped as after his surgery he had to spend an additional day intubated because he had breathing issues. His road to recovery is once again going to be a long and difficult one, with follow- up surgeries . He will have to have a colostomy bag for at least 6 months and an eventual surgery to remove it. His surgeon will have to perform another colonoscopy and treat accordingly. All of these procedures have high co-pays and add up.
Two years ago he incurred debt due his medical bills. Chris kept his ever positive attitude, worked hard and paid them off. Since his recovery he has worked tirelessly trying to keep his long-term restaurant afloat during uncertain Covid regulations and restrictions. Working 60-70 hours a week, only taking time off to move his elderly mother in Arizona in the 100+ degree heat, he has been a key part in the restaurant staying open.
What do you think of when you think of Chris? He is kind, generous, caring, hard working and considerate. Chris is a great father, always stepping up to help his boys, volunteering in class, he was even hand crafting a desk for Sumner when he got sick. I think of "Crafty Chris." When I had to put our dog to sleep he made me a shadow box filled with memorabilia.
Friends, family... you know Chris wouldn't ask for help. He called an ambulance for himself! He didn't ask for help the first go- around. Let's help him as he would do for us.
