Chris's Cancer Bills and Future Funeral Fees

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ava and I have created this campaign for my father who just recently began hospice care for his terminal cancer. My dad, Chris Richter, was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in June of 2018. Following his diagnosis, he had been undergoing bladder wall scraping, bacterial treatments, chemotherapy, radiation, and finally immunotherapy.  We held hope that at one of the appointments we would get the good news that his cancer was controlled enough to remove his bladder. However, it was becoming apparent that the cancer was winning despite my dad's and our family's best hopes.

His appetite continued to decrease as pain and nausea tortured his body. His care team put every effort they could into making him comfortable enough to have quality of life.

On November 4th, my dad was taken to the emergency room via ambulance because even just a few steps were too much for him. He hadn't been eating in a few days, his water intake was severely lacking, and he didn't even have the energy to speak to or hug family members. Despite this, he still was worried about returning to work soon as a UPS truck loader and package handler in order to make sure my mom could still pay bills.

Just 10 days prior to the ED visit, my dad had received the news that spots were visualized on his liver. A second CT scan conducted at the emergency room revealed that the spots on his liver had increased over 3 x the amount it had been 10 days prior. The doctor told us that his liver was almost completely covered in cancer growth and it was only a matter of days now before it would fail.

On November 11th, my dad was healthy enough to return home to receive hospice care. His wish is to discontinue all treatment and focus on spending his last moments being comfortable. He is predicted to have days to months at this time. At this time we are asking for help to pay his hospital bills and future funeral services. We will provide updates about his progress and comfort throughout the process.

Our family wishes to help other families that are struggling with cancer in the future as we understand the pain it can cause for all involved.

Thank you for visiting our page and we hope that you could help us by sharing or contributing to the campaign. Any money raised from this campaign would be used towards medical bills, funeral fees, and keeping the lights on. We created our goal based on outstanding medical bills related to his treatment and funeral service fees.
