I am reaching out because I have recently been accepted into the prestigious Community Trustbuilding Fellowship. Through this fellowship, I will be positioned to help facilitate change and create a more equitable community here in Richmond.
As you know, my work at the American Civil War Museum and on the history of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church places me near the center of community conversations over history and equity here in Richmond. But I want to do better.
The Community Trustbuilding Fellowship is a selective, experiential learning course offered to leaders and change agents from across the nation who want to make a difference in their communities and gain skills and perspectives that will help them engage with others as effective facilitators. Since beginning 15 years ago, this program has generated a network of over 200 alumni from diverse regional, racial, spiritual, and career backgrounds. Faculty and guest speakers include leaders in the field of community trustbuilding, dialogue, and facilitation. This intensive, transformational program of Initiatives of Change, USA is held at the historic Richmond Hill spiritual and retreat center. You can learn more about this program by visiting the program website: us.iofc.org/ctf.
I am personally contributing $500 toward the tuition, but I cannot afford the entire amount needed. To reach the total, I need to raise an additional $1,900. All meals, lodging, and program costs are included in this amount. Since fellows are responsible for raising their own tuition, I am in need of assistance and hope that you can help by contributing what you can.
Your support is greatly appreciated. I look forward to sharing this extraordinary experience with you upon its completion. Thank you in advance.
