I'm creating this GoFundMe out of love for my son, Christian (Chris).
Chris is a bright, caring and talented young man who wants to be a productive member of society. He loves writing, music, camping and animals. Chris has a fantastic imagination.
Chris was born with a very rare pancreas problem which has become much worse throughout the years. Chris is 22 years old now and is unable to work because he has flare -ups so often. He has been hospitalized 23 times since 2011. These flare-ups cause excruciating pain and last for days. They leave him weak and unable to eat. He cries. He has missed so much in his life.
Finally, thanks to the miracles of science and research, a surgery can be performed that will give Chris a fairly normal life.
The reason for this GoFundMe is that the surgery will be performed at UCLA. We live near Phoenix. Chris will be hospitalized for at least three weeks. Insurance, thankfully, will pay for the majority of the medical bills, but not transportation, motel stay for me, or incidentals. I must be there. I must be. I've been trying to save some money, but it's very difficult these days.
Any help you may be will be forever appreciated. You'll be helping save my son with me by his side.
