Chris Venn’s unexpected medical emergency
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Paige and I’m a paramedic in southeast Saskatchewan and my fellow coworker, Britt Venn (maiden Needham) was faced with possibly one of the hardest situations as a wife, as well as a paramedic approximately 6 weeks ago.
Her husband, Chris, had an unexpected medical emergency on September 11th presenting with stroke like symptoms that have not yet resolved.
Chris spent a while in the ICU at Regina General Hospital and is now recovering at a rehabilitation centre where the end is not yet in sight. He’s working hard to regain strength so that he can return home to his ranch and his family that he is missing so dearly but in the mean time, their ranch requires someone taking care of it. Britt has been staying around home with the kids trying to keep their lives as normal as possible during this hard time, while simultaneously running their ranch as they have cattle, dogs, horses, and sheep.
Britt and Chris have two very young children, that are missing their Dad for sure, and in typical toddler fashion, are both very busy. Hazel (4) and Gage (1). As you can imagine, Britt has a lot on her plate and had to step back from working as a paramedic, as well as, begin downsizing the ranch considerably to a more manageable extent for herself.
With both Chris and Britt being off work, the costs of a ranch and the incredible cost of living, funds have been tight for this family and with no end date in sight, this is a stress I am hoping we can gain some help with.
Both Chris and Britt are active members in our small community. They volunteer their time and take part on boards.
Britt was a huge part of Oxbow EMS getting a new base and ambulance, and some of the equipment we carry on our trucks (with immense gratitude to the RM for funding and fundraising for this as well).
Chris is a very smart, and incredibly kind individual. He is someone that I personally believe anybody would benefit from talking to. He has a very positive outlook on life and does everything out of genuine kindness. He works as a high level executive in the financial industry and was actually supposed to be giving a lecture on kindness in business on September 12th in Toronto.
I know times are tough for everyone right now but if you’re in a position to help this little family out, it would be a good cause to support and would be greatly appreciated.
Funds will be used to help Chris and Britt stay afloat until they get some answers.
