Papa’s Fidel “Philip” Tañada is Going Home...
He was at the peak of achieving his dreams when the unfortunate happened. In the middle of the winter storm last month, he was on his way to work but he never got there. I received a call from my mom, heavy hearted saying papa passed away. Police officers found his body lying on the cold ground. In a blink of an eye, our papa was gone.

Chris Tañada, SAC family member...
You may not know Chris but maybe seen him working in housekeeping at night or on the weekends. But we can tell you that Chris is a viable part of our club and an undeniable beautiful human being.  Sadly Chris is forced with the unavoidable.  Help us give back to Chris and his family.  Help us give his family piece of mind and closure.

We created this page to ask for assistance and funding on bringing Chris's beloved papa’s remains home to the Philippines. He worked and sacrificed so hard all his life in hope of providing a better future for his family. He endured being away from his family for a long time and now we want to give him what he deserves: he always wanted to go back home, to be reconnected with his ancestors and to have his remains buried in his home country. Spring, the season where color flourishes and vegetation comes back to life; also marks his 40th day after death. In their tradition, they believe that the soul ends wandering on earth and finally ascends to our creator. Along with the transition of season, they would  like to celebrate his life. You can all help us make his final wish of coming home come true.

Let's rewind
This is Philip according to Chris and family...
From our childhood years, our Papa has been working as a seaman abroad. Every year he would spend almost a year working away from home on cruise ships, then he would come home to the Philippines and stay with us for a brief period of time. He had travelled the world and it was his lifelong dream to alleviate the situation of his family by bringing us abroad. He has always been energetic and generous enough to provide everything that we need. Growing up, he sacrificed being far from us in order for us to have a better future. Fruit of his hard work, we were able to finish our studies.
Sadly, his ultimate goal to travel the world with us ended after he was not given a medical clearance to pursue his work as a seaman after his heart bypass surgery. He then stayed home with us in the Philippines. His purpose as a father and provider was renewed and he felt that the sun is shining upon him again. It was definitely a blessing not only for us but for him to make his dreams come true when our US Immigrant Visas have been finally granted late in 2017. Few months later, both of my parents, brother and myself flew here in Seattle, Washington.

He was exhilarated, we saw how he was determined to be able to work again and eventually achieve his aspirations. He had so many dreams not only for us, his friends, the people who had helped him, his former coworkers and people who have always put their trust and believed in him. Indeed, he owns a big heart, thinking not just for himself or his family, but the whole community where he was born and raised. Your assistance will definitely help us with the processing of his documents and travel expenses of my siblings from the Philippines to the US so we can reunite with our grieving mother. Once all the documents have been processed, together we will all travel back to the Philippines, bringing papa’s remains home. Upon arrival in the Philippines, we will arrange for his wake and service, let our relatives and friends pay their respects and finally be able to bury his remains in a well-rested place. It is customary to offer a 9-day novena known as “pasiyam” for our dear departed loved one.

We are knocking on the doors of your understanding, considerate and loving hearts, asking to kindly help us gather the resources that we need. We all know this is quite a long journey but with your help and working hand in hand, we can finally bring our papa back home.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, we appreciate the assistance you are extending to my family.
