On August 8, 2023, a mixture of severe winds and drought lead to devastating wild fires in West Maui. The town of Lahaina has experienced the extremes of these fires with nearly all businesses, the harbor, and homes destroyed leaving residents without resources or any belongings.

This fundraiser is for Chris Stein, who lost his home, car, place of work and all of his belongings in the fire. Chris was at work at the time of the fire, and helped bring 30 guests back to safety in the midst of the tragedy. Since the fires he’s been non-stop, loading and unloading boats, driving uhauls of supplies to the west side and coordinating relief efforts. He’s the most selfless person I know. Despite losing everything he’s worked tirelessly to support the community and his loved ones. I wouldn’t have been able to get through this week without him and I know so many others who feel the same.
