Chris Financial Assistance: Terminal Glioblastoma
(Scroll for latest updates)
I am Cynthia Roberts sister of Chris Roberts. My brother is a devoted family man who has 6 kids ranging from 3-22 and two daughter in laws, one of which is currently serving in the US Navy. He has a wife and 4 children under the age of 18 that depend on him emotionally, physically, and financially.
On Thursday 12/28/23 he suffered a hard hit to his head, over the next coming days he was falling a lot and showing signs of a severe concussion. The evening of 12/30 his wife Lisha took him to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where they performed several scans to find that he has a Tumor in his brain.
Upon further tests and evaluation it has been determined that his tumor is more than likely glioblastoma cancer or lymphoma.
This family needs all the love, prayers, and support they can get right now. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated from prayers to monetarily especially. ALL proceeds will be going to Chris and his family for medical bills and bills of the home while he is out of work and wife is having to miss many days at hers.
UPDATE: Chris has been diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer. On Friday 1/5/24 he had as much of the tumor removed as they could and will be doing aggressive radiation and chemotherapy in the coming weeks to try to slow it down as much as they can.
On 1/6/24 while Chris was in ICU recovering I received the worst phone call in regard to his oldest son that he had been in a horrible car accident not far from one of his grandparents homes and was no longer with us. Noah, his oldest boy passed around 10:52pm on 1/6/24. So on top of Chris not being able to work and faced with that financial hardship there is now the hurt of losing his oldest son.
UPDATE 1/20/24
Chris goes to radiology oncology today to be fitted for everything to start his intense radiology to try to shrink and slow down his cancer growth.
He has high deductible insurance and a lot of out of pocket expenses just for his treatments not to mention the fuel cost of travel to and from the hospital for PT, drs appointments, and radiation. Plus he is not able to work so their family income has been drastically reduced.
Thank you everyone for all your donations they are greatly appreciate beyond words, anything is helpful.

Nephews obituary
1/28/24: insurance only covers up to $4000 of Chris Chemo we have to work out and figure out the rest. He was denied short term disability that we have to appeal because his insurance started 1/1/24 but he went into the hospital 12/30/23 and was diagnosed with cancer on 1/3/24 so it’s having to be navigated so he has absolutely no income right now plus high medication cost. His therapies start this week. He still doesn’t have much strength and has issues with falling and has to use a walker all the time. Will update more after his first week of radiation and chemo.
UPDATE 3/12/2024: Chris had his last round of radiation and chemotherapy. He now has a month break from treatments until they reconvene on 4/19 to discuss further actions and treatments. Currently the plan is double dosed aggressive chemo one week out of each month for 6 months, the chemo alone will not only be hard on him but also cost around $5000 out of pocket. He is also worried about losing his insurance or the cost doubling due to having to possibly go on cobra. Praying still for disability payments and beyond thankful for all the blessings received so far. For anyone that doesn’t know, this cancer cannot be fully removed and is not curable, and is extremely aggressive.
The only update as of 5/24/24, there is not much they can do based on where his tumor is and the fact they can’t to too much radiation and chemo only makes him extremely sick but doesn’t help the cancer. He has been told avg life span is 14 mo from diagnosis which was January 2024 and that come early fall late summer they expect decline and to live life. His wife is only one working for their family of 8 and doing best she can since he cannot work due to vision, cognitive, strength, and balance issues. He cannot get disability until earliest August or September is what he was told. With having grocery bills, light bill, gas, insurances, mortgage, and other bills and incidentals all the help can get is appreciated.
