Christopher's LONG Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley, Chris sister. I want to start by saying that my brother is strong, loving father of 3 boys (Ethan 16, Mikey 12 and Tyler 7) and a proud U.S. Army veteran who served 3 tours in Iraq. Before all this Chris was active in U.S. National Guard and had a full time job. 23 days ago Chris and our lives were turned upside. Chris was at work and started feeling funny, passed out and his job called an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital. They found out he was having a stroke, it was a major. He was taken into emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain, they were successful with that. As he was waking up on Friday afternoon the 28th they realized he had full paralysis on his left side but he could talk and was coherent. We were so thankful. On Saturday our parents started seeing more setbacks with Chris...he couldn't talk or look at them, emergency CT scanwas done and another stroke was found. This stoke was massive in the center of his brain. He was rushed into surgery and was told it was very critical, they removed his right bone flap and again he survived. The doctors and nurses said it was one of the worst they had seen. GOD is so good. Chris was on a ventilator, fully sedated and very touch and go for 2 weeks. Nov 9th sedation was lowered slowly and ventilator was removed. Again God blessed us with another miracle. We were told that Chris probably wouldn't survive and if he did then he would have zero quality of life. But since then Chris has made so many steps to towards recovery. But he has a very hard, long road of recovery ahead of him. Chris does not understand that he has complete paralysis on his left side and he is very hard headed guy. He should be moved to a rehab facility sometime next week. We are asking for your help with travel expenses, long time care and all the things Chris will need to learn to relive this new life. Thank you in advance. Chris and our family appreciate all the love and support.
