Chris Papineau memorial and relief fund

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with great sorrow that this Go Fund Me is created to benefit the Papineau family after the sudden loss of their faithful, honorable, loving father and husband Chris Papineau.

Chris and Marija had completed their routine swim when Chris suffered a cardiac event while in the pool Sunday morning on August 25th, which proved to be too severe for him to recover from despite the help and efforts from nearby strangers and the EMS paramedics.

Chris leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, Marija, and his 4 sons: Dave (23), Marc (20), Isaac (17), Matthew (14).

Currently, two of the boys are students in highschool while Marc pursues higher education. It is an impossible age to lose a sole provider and parent for the boys; Old enough to be aware of the gravity of the situation, but too young to be able to fix it me care for their mother alone.

Many of you may also be aware of Marija's struggles with several chronic medical conditions requiring ongoing care and are the cause of various trips to emergency rooms along with random hospitalizations and surgeries. As Marija courageously moves forward tending to the needs of the family the most practical way others may help besides lifting them up in prayer is through the generous offer of financial help.

No donation is too small and any donation is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately Chris was the only earner of income for the Papineau family. Marija's chronic illnesses and needs prevent her from working. There is a battle to be fought in securing a safe, healthy and bright future for Chris's family.

Our hearts will always be filled with love and respect for Chris, whose big heart touched each of us in so many ways. His heart and arms were open to the world. Chris was passionate about his faith, family and his sense of justice. He was generous beyond reason and practicality. His life was lived for his family. His life was lived taking care of others at his own expense.

He is loved.

Our memories will forever be rich with the gifts he shared, the example he was and the devotion he carried for God, Life, family the Faith, 14ers, and fly fishing.
