Chris Mulligan is a husband and father of two from New York. He has undergone three back surgeries as a result of a failed initial surgery. He has been plagued with unbearable pain for years, driven to walking with a cane. As a way to alleviate some of that pain, he underwent an outpatient procedure recommended by his pain management doctor. That procedure led to a life-threatening infection. Chris is since in the ICU fighting for his life after emergency surgery to remove some of the infection that covered his entire spine from his neck down to his tailbone. Chris is fighting not only to beat and survive this infection but also for his ability to move afterward. If and when he does recover, Chris will have to go through massive amounts of physical rehabilitation. His life will be forever altered by this tragedy.
