Three months ago our family received some very troubling news, my brother, Chris Morici, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. What started out as a little back pain, turned into a tumor in his kidney and cancer in both lungs and his shoulder blade. Since then, Chris has started immunotherapy and radiation. The cancer in his kidney and lungs has shrunk but new cancer has formed in his throat and hip. The cancer has chewed through his hip and shoulder blade bones and made it difficult to move around and causes constant pain. Even three doses of Morphine each day has caused very little relief.
Those of you who know Chris understand how humble, selfless, and competitive he is. When our father’s battle with Multiple Sclerosis progressed, he packed up his bags and moved into our parents’ home to help. As the big brother of our family, Chris has always been there for us. He’s always had my back and is someone I can count on in the toughest of moments. I’ve always leaned on him and knew he would be there, now it’s time for Chris to lean on us.
Chris was a standout catcher at Naperville Central High School. A position that requires intelligence, skill, and toughness. He did not give up any passed balls his senior year and nearly threw out every runner that tried to steal on him. The skills, leadership, and dependability he learned has continued on today. In fact, Chris is still helping his company out as a recruiter any time he can.
Chris has chosen to fight this battle quietly, but now needs all of our help. This past Friday Chris got married to his longtime partner Audrey Nishi Kruger! Audrey lives in Wichita, Kansas and is a nurse and cancer survivor. She has been visiting Chris as often as possible and helping him through his battle. As Chris’s medical bills mount, he needs help more now than ever. The funds you donate will help with the cost of his medical bills and allow Audrey to travel to Naperville to help Chris with all of his needs.
Please consider helping the guy that has always helped everyone else.
