Don’t really have time to give updates enough, but Christopher has been a champion, for the most part ♥️
He was home and feeling pretty decent last Thursday (6/23) when I saw him in the morning, he was tapping his teeth, and I didn’t think much of it but by Friday morning he woke up with a fever, luckily his sister and bil were there and convinced him to go to the er …
His fever was so high that they were almost unable to get an accurate reading, when they finally did it was around 104.
Of course they admitted him, and started antibiotics.
Turns out the root of this infection is due to bacteria in the gums/mouth…
thanks again, chemo.

****Update ****
Chris got to go home for the first time in 2 weeks, on 4/29, he spent a couple of days reuniting and loving on his kiddos who missed him so much.
Unfortunately- by Tuesday morning (5/3) he ended up back at the ER, and transported once again to St David’s South Austin, after experiencing chest pain, body aches , fever and severe fatigue. His platelets were low, and it turns out he has MSSA so he will be inpatient for a few more days.
Medical bills continue to stack up and the idea of him being able to go back to work and bring in any sort of income is so far out of sight at this point.
I’m writing this on behalf of Chris McRae and his family.
Chris is a 35 year old single father of 4 and one of the nicest and funniest people I’ve ever met. He and his family have already had an extremely difficult year with several hurdles- one being, the loss of Chris’s father last summer after a long battle with Lymphoma. Christopher enjoys many things in life, some of which include- golfing, fishing, and playing music, but most of all he loves spending time with his family.

After struggling with intense back pain for the last couple of weeks Chris decided to make a trip to the ER at St. David’s hospital in Georgetown, TX last Saturday in the hopes of getting some quick treatment so he could spend Easter with his family.
What was originally thought to be a pulled muscle, rapidly turned into something much more dire. Chris was admitted immediately after preliminary testing, and through a series of CT scans, MRI’s, Biopsies, and bone marrow testing, Chris was Diagnosed with Burkitts B-Cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
As I write this, Chris is beginning an extremely aggressive and painful series of inpatient Chemotherapy that will last for the next several months.
His hospital bills have already exceeded $100,000 and Chris has limited health insurance benefits..
Needless to say, this will be a devastating event for Chris and his family regardless of the outcome.
Chris is an extremely proud and loving father to FOUR beautiful children (Addie-14, Carter -12, Oliver-7, and Della -6). It goes without saying, Chris will be unable to work for quite some time even in the best of outcomes. He has bills mounting, and on top of fighting for his life, has the worry of being financially devastated from this shocking event. Chris has always been an extremely diligent and hard working father, and being unable to work is just one of many things adding to an already difficult situation.
I’m asking anyone who can find it in their heart to help Chris to please do so in whatever way you can. Even if you can’t help financially, please share this with your friends and loved ones so we can help spread this unimaginable story and get Chris and his family the help they desperately need and chance to resume a normal life someday.
If you take one minute of your time to share this story on any and all platforms you can (social media, text, email, etc. ) Just one retweet or shared post can make a world of difference.
If you’ve read this far, I sincerely thank you for caring enough to take the time to learn about Chris and this unexpected journey that life has sent him on..and I hope you will help, in anyway possible. ♥️
