Chris McKenzie

Chris McKenzie. Mother. Wife. Grandmother, and teacher at Central Christian School in Robertsdale, Alabama passed away on April 11th, 2023, in a devastating housefire that struck the two-story dwelling belonging to the family. Four days prior to the tragic fire, Chris and her husband were involved in a wreck with another vehicle, totaling their only form of transportation, breaking three of Chris's ribs, and leaving them questioning how they would go about their daily lives. As Chris waited on her beloved husband to return home from being in ICU for what felt like longer than 3 days, Chris was upstairs laying down when all tragedy broke loose. The fire stretched across the small home, leaving scorch marks on the wooden exterior, and the belongings inside.

Chris made her peace known as she walked the earth. She was loved by her many students, coworkers, and family members. She had taught at Central Christian for 20 years, leaving a precious memory behind.

Fredrick McKenzie II, a teacher at Baldwin County Virtual School, a loving husband, father, and grandfather is left with little to no clothing, food, or shelter. No transportation to work or check-ups after the car accident, and is in need of our help. We are asking as a community to come together and fight for this family in their time of need.

Chris McKenzie was a light in the atmosphere around others and created a safe space for everyone. She loved animals, Stranger Things, and her precious children. This family had several pets, but as we know currently, none of the pets have been identified. In this time of need, please consider the tender hearts of several aspects in this situation.
