Chris McClure will be remembered by many from his tough exterior to his light-hearted sense of humor. Please help lighten the financial burden that his illness and passing has placed on his beloved wife, Maureen (Moe). Chris would want us to be there for Maureen and take care of her during this difficult since that was his protective nature over her. The following is Chris's obituary:
Christopher Sean McClure passed away on January 18, 2017 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA. Christopher resided in Sterling, VA with his wife Maureen.
Chris was born on May 28, 1966 in Alexandria, Virginia, where he also spent most of his younger years. After High School, he studied for and received an Associates Degree in Computer Science and also in the following years, was certified in many trades. He subsequently worked and achieved journeyman status in multiple fields. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Air, Rail and Transportation Workers Local 100 Union. He worked as a HVAC Mechanic for Cropp Metcalfe, was an Elevator / Escalator Heavy Repair Mechanic for WAMTA, and had also worked as a washer / dryer mechanic repairman for Sears. Christopher was also a certified welder of which he worked at various companies. He often used his skills to help family and friends. In short, he was a multi-skilled man who could fix seemingly everything.
Chris was an avid Redskins fan, and had a wide variety of other interests. Among them was a long-term interest in astronomy about which he was exceptionally knowledgeable. He was interested in guns, was a lover of animals, particularly his cats Zoey and Zeus. Another interest was motorcycles. More recently he purchased a full dresser Road Glide Ultra 2016 Harley Davidson, which he is proudly sitting on in the picture above.
He was an extremely strong man who had a wonderful sense of humor, who loved telling jokes, making people laugh, and who loved his rock and roll (especially Black Sabbath), and loved his country.
He dearly loved his wife of 15 years, Maureen (i.e. Moe), of whom he was very protective.
He is survived by his wife Maureen Sue, his mother Casandra McKeaver, his father Robert D. McClure, Sr., his brothers Robert Jr. and John W. McClure, and many other family members.
Chris will be loved and missed dearly by all.
