Chris Martinez was involved in an auto-pedestrian crash (click to read more) on Sunday, January 14. A suspected intoxicated driver hit him (click to watch a short video), sending him to the hospital with a fractured skull and hemorrhaging of the brain. After six days in neurological intensive care, Chris passed away on Saturday, January 20.
Please help our family cover costs incurred in holding a memorial service to honor Chris's life.
Chris was a beloved brother, son, cousin, nephew, and friend. Chris was a brilliant individual with an insatiable curiosity for new music, other culture and languages. He found pleasure in the small things: taking long drives with no destination in mind or walking around his hometown of Harlingen, TX listening to music.
Chris's short life was not without its obstacles. For the better part of the last ten years, he struggled with severe mental health issues. Despite this, Chris never stopped being carefree, spontaneous, and a lot of fun.
Any money raised beyond our goal will go directly toward Tropical Texas Behavioral Health to help others like Chris.
