Chris Marsh Recovery Fund
Chris was at his family cabin in Edinburgh, VA on January 4th and sometime that evening fell from the top bunk of a bunk bed and suffered a profound Central Spinal Cord injury at C4 level. His friend Steve found him unresponsive and called 911.
Chris was in ICU in Winchester, VA for 28 days, at times fighting for his life.
He was transported to Kessler, a long term rehab facility in NJ by ambulance on January 31, 2019 to start a long road to recovery. That ride alone cost $6,000.
Current Needs: Home modifications (30,000.00), bathroom equipment (2,000), Motorized wheelchair (approx 5,000.00), ramps (8,900.00), special medical mattress to prevent skin breakdown (7000.00) -None of the above covered by insurance.
Medical supplies, nursing care, and ongoing therapy. Some of the nursing care is covered by insurance but with all and the OT/PT therapy he needs he will soon surpass what his insurance covers.
Other therapy needs include gloves, special utensils that he uses to feed himself, and a manual wheelchair (insurance will only pay for one every five years)
For anyone who knows Chris you know he is the first guy there to help when he has a friend in need. Let’s return the favor and help Chris fight the toughest battle of his life.
