On behalf of Chris & Larissa Swanson:
Chances are that if you're reading this, you know who Chris and Larissa Swanson are and what they're going through. But unfortunately, the ripple effect from open heart surgery and a previous stroke are beginning to affect the foundation that has kept Chris and Larissa Swanson afloat.
Although this stroke was classified as moderate, the underlying factors from the previous stroke can technically increase its rating as a medium to severe stroke. There is a chance that Chris will not experience a 100% full recovery. Unfortunately, we can say that the road to recovery will easily encompass the next calendar year and possibly be out of the workforce well into 2025. The physical therapy for Chris to get back on his feet is not as simple as it would seem. Chris's situation is unique, and they are already facing complications when he undergoes physical therapy. They are still trying to find placement for him over the weekend, and hopefully, we'll have settled on a destination by Monday, July 25th, 2022. Chris will receive a majority of his care through the VA system so think all you in advance for paying your taxes. However, what they cover is extremely limited. The only expenses that are covered under the VA system are expenses that are directly connected to physical therapy or a medical evaluation.
Bottom line, Chris and Larissa are responsible for all personal travel, including fuel, rental vehicles, parking, flights, any reimbursement for mileage, accommodations, all food and beverage, etc., without any tax breaks to lean on.
So, what can you do? Get Creative! Anything will help.
• Have a flight credit you can do without? Don't let it go to waste.
• Have extra points on your credit card? They could use them
• Have a four-day, three-night stay at a major brand like Marriott to use later for hosting an event. Sign it over to Chris & Larissa. 9 out of 10 never get used.
• You live in the area and have that week off of work that Larissa has to go help Swany? House sit.
• You live in the area and have time off of work because you're too lazy to work. House sit and clean the litter box.
• Have a wealthy family member that’s horrible at poker? You know what to do.
• Unfortunately, due to the location, there isn’t the option to send a pizza
• Have an old beat-up pick-up out back? Take it for a spin during the sunrise and sunset.
• Know anyone more empathetic with the cognitive sense of self-awareness you can depend on with the courage and integrity to maintain a likable character like Mother Teresa? Tell us, for everyone that fits this description, we'll donate $100.00 to support Chris & Larissa.
We know this sounds funny and makes light of the situation, but all joking aside, this is a real-life situation in critical condition. We can’t emphasize enough how time-sensitive this has already become.
