Chris Koep Brain Injury Fundraiser

Hi everyone,

We are starting this GoFundMe page for Chris our brother, son, boyfriend, father, cousin, nephew & friend, who just suffered a brain injury last Friday, August 26th. He was going to fix a door on a shed. He had a 20 foot ladder set up, but we are not sure how high he was, on the ladder, when he fell. He was laying on his back when he was found. No broken bones, cuts or scrapes, but he hit his head. He was taken by ambulance to the Douglas County Hospital, in Alexandria, where they put in a breathing tube and then flew him to the St Cloud Hospital. He was in ICU for the first two days and the CT scan showed some bleeding on the brain. They finally moved him to a room on Sunday, so he is out of ICU. They took the breathing tube out now, but he is still sleeping a lot and not fully awake yet. Physical Therapy had him sit up yesterday (8/29) and then stand for a minute or two. He was totally zonked out after that. We are unsure at this point how long he will be in the hospital or how much therapy he will need to recover. He might have a long road ahead. That's why we set up this page to help with the medical bills that are piling up and other bills as Chris and Tammi are both off work at this time and unsure for how long.

Our family needs your help to support and encourage Chris' fight to healing. For us, family represents a foundation of love that can't be no greater. For us, family represents unconditional sacrifices and want nothing more than happiness for one another. For us, family represents a journey in humility, not an obligation but a choice to spend time with one another for pure joy. For us, the foundation of family is faith, love and hope. We hope Chris can gain his abilities and return to our family. When things go wrong and crisis faces you, a family is who becomes dependable. Chris would be the first person to give you his shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket if you were in need. As you know, Chris works hard for his family. His time from work makes things a bit difficult, but we are hopeful he will rebound and return to his abilities.
