Chris Jones Bahamas Fund

My name is Chris Jones and I am a native Bahamian who has proudly lived in Green Turtle Cay (GTC) Bahamas for the past 10 years.  I'm a licensed captain and I've been a fishing guide for as long as I can remember.  I have a lovely young daughter, Vanessa,  who also lives in GTC and we were recently hit by hurricane Dorian.  Our home and almost everything we own has been destroyed and we're now trying to rebuild our lives.  Almost every Bahamian on the outer islands makes a living off of tourism and that has disappeared.  

After Dorian hit us, I had a lot of friends ask me how they can help.  At the time I was in survival mode helping others in worse shape get off the island.  We're now looking at a long road to recovery and need all the help we can get.  A friend from the US suggested I start a GoFundMe page to solicit help from those would like to contribute to our recovery.  I've never been the type to ask for help but right now I'm not sure there are a lot of choices.  My plan is to stay on GTC and help in the rebuilding efforts but it will be a while before those efforts start.  

We will be grateful to all who help us out in our time of need.  We hope to be back on our feet again soon and welcome all the wonderful visitors we get every year from the US and other places around the world.
