Chris Hall - Fighting Covid19
On August 20, Chris (my son in law) was admitted to the local Arkansas hospital due to Covid-19. After being ill for a week at home, with very little symptoms, he started to struggle to catch his breath and it was decided that he needed to go to the hospital. Once being admitted he was vented almost immediately due to oxygen levels being down to 22%. Thankfully since then he has been able to keep his oxygen levels high and has been stable since August 23rd with nothing worse but nothing better.
As of today, he has been sedated, and on a ventilator for 10 days. They will be having a trach put in this week so that further damage to his vocal cords is not done. After speaking with the doctors about his care, they have prepared the family for a long stay in the hospital & rehab due to the damage that has been done to his lungs, dialysis on his kidneys and other underlying medical issues that he has been battling for a year.
During all of this Natalie and the children are trying to find their normal. However, due to the extended hospital stay and the amounts of therapy that will be needed for respiratory, physical, speech and occupational this will have a large financial impact on them with any medical bills not covered by insurance or written off by the hospital. Unfortunately, due to the damage that has been done to his lungs he has a long road ahead of him. We are strong in our faith and believe that Chris will be healed with the help of the medical team and his willing to beat Covid-19. Know that we love you all and appreciate your prayers and thoughts.
