Chris Emblidge Passing: A Fund for his Son

Chris Emblidge unexpectedly passed away early December 2024. Chris leaves behind his son, Jake and his dog Luna.

Chris was a talented musician, a beloved member of the Facebook group “Gheenoeholics” and anyone who met him was inspired by his cool demeanor and true friendship.

I met Chris as a random buyer when I was selling my first gheenoe, which would become Chris’ first Gheenoe. He had never owned a boat and could tell this stranger was a kind soul. I guided him through the process he was worried about pricing, reliability and even trailering. Little did I know the impact this sale would have on him and countless others in the community.

As years ago by Chris started organizing Gheenoe rally’s down around Naples and the Everglades. He cherished every friendship he had, and could tell some crazy stories and created his own with his new friends. I’m sure everyone has a great story with Chris.

All Chris wanted to do was leave his son a better life than he had, which he rebuilt his own life into something amazing. He had a successful business, friendships and more importantly, raised an amazing and talented son who is now entering college.

This GoFundMe aims to give 100% of the funding to Jake to help him through college and beyond. A bank account will be setup in Jake’s name.

Chris’ funeral will be Dec 14 6-8pm at Naples Funeral Home
