Recently, we learned that Chris has a VERY rare and aggressive form of cancer, Sinonasal PDNEC. Go ahead…Google it. We did. WOW! Separately, they’re not great but as one they’re an even bigger feat to take on. In fact, it’s so rare that in the ENTIRE US, there is ONE doctor found that has treated it. That doctor is in TX. As you can imagine, with Chris living in CA, the logistics aren’t ideal, but they are necessary. This is his chance to not just survive but thrive, and with his village beside him, he is going to take it! What does this mean? It means that Chris will be traveling…LOTS…for treatments including chemo & radiation. Unfortunately, before the cancer ever happened, Chris was working the same job for 14 years but more recently his hours had been significantly cut. Then, out of left field, this detour called cancer. To say finances are tight is an understatement. He has applied for disability to assist during this time, but we know he is likely months away from an approval, meaning also months away from receiving that much needed income. In the meantime, in addition to the usual rent, utilities, and normal life expenses, Chris will need OUR help to fight this battle and handle a list of things, such as:
*Hotels for his time in TX-FYI he is on several wait lists for hospitality services that would reduce his cost for stays during treatment times. However, he has been told these lists are month long waits at the moment.
*Flights back & forth
*Co-Pays, and other uncovered medical expenses
*Transportation (airports, appointments, etc.)
Chris has had a grueling few months trying to get treatment options lined up and moving in his favor. Insurance has been challenging to say the least. All he wants is his chance to beat this thing and live a long life to talk about it. So here we are…Asking help from his village. Chris has always shown up for everyone. It’s our turn to show up BIG for him. He needs us now more than ever. There’s never a good time to have cancer. It stops someone’s world in its tracks. It ceases income and adds many unexpected costs, and all of them in addition to the physical and mental toll it takes. Chris’ fight is just beginning and it will take everything he’s got. Please consider helping during this time so that his focus can remain where it should be…on beating cancer and getting well.
All donations go directly to Chris to assist on this journey. With that said, there are a few other ways that one could help him. I am listing those below in case there is interest or if someone doesn’t prefer the Go Fund Me platform.
*Venmo - @Christopher-Ford-25
*PayPal - @christopherford
*Gift cards-Kroger/Ralph’s
*Gift cards-Uber/Lyft
Above all, thank you to everyone for your support, continued prayers, and good vibes. It truly means the world to Chris.
