Chris Christenbury legal Fund.

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Jason, and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Chris Christenbury, a man who has been a mentor and good friend to me for more than half of my life. Currently, he needs help with legal expenses due to a lawsuit filed against both himself and his son, which is mentioned in more detail below. Any money donated to this fundraiser will be put towards the fees needed to fight against said lawsuit.
Because Chris lives solely off his VA benefits and doesn't have the money to hire a good lawyer, this crowd funding page has been set up to help provide him with the best legal counsel we can afford.

As to why he is in need of legal counsel, a few years ago, Chris took it upon himself to help a client of his, going above and beyond what was required of him. Eventually he moved in to provide live-in care for that person, and he provided that care for years. However, eventually, he realized he was too out of his depth, it was weighing on him and he could no longer provide her the care she needed. It was beyond his area of expertise. He helped her find a person that better suited her needs and returned to his normal everyday life.

Recently, two years after he had left the care of that person to someone else, a lawsuit is being filed against him on behalf of this person, claiming that Chris and his son Malcolm defrauded the patient. They are saying that he opened credit cards in her name and stole money from her accounts. For those reading this who know Chris, you probably understand why I am starting this Go-Fund Me Campaign to fight against these accusations and the defamation of his character. But for those who don't, let me tell you a little about him.

Chris Christenbury is a proud former Marine and Vietnam veteran, someone who has spent the majority of his life in service to others. He served in the Coast Guard and was a police officer in Richmond, VA . While raising his family he also became a mentor and counselor to hundreds of troubled young men through the 90s and early 2000s, myself included, and dedicated himself to helping them turn their lives around.

I met Chris when I was 13, and he was a counselor at a group home. (Barium Springs Home for Children now). I had issues, Chris helped me. I met him again in life, when I was 16, At Wellspring Academy. Where Chris once again helped me. I left Wellspring and joined the US Army; It was a life goal at that point in my life. Due to some unfortunate events in Osut training, I was medically discharged from the military. I hit rock bottom; I dived into drug use, among other self-destructive choices. I was given a choice, go to Boone, or live on the street. In Boone, Chris had started his own At-Risk home for men over 18, Cove Creek Farm in Sugar Grove, NC outside Boone. Chris saved my life; it is that simple. I have watched first-hand as Chris did everything he could to help those around him throughout my life. I have watched as those who Chris has helped went on to do great things in life. They are small and large business owners, military servicemen, authors, engineers, mechanics; they are people of every classification. Because that is what Chris has dedicated his life to. Helping people and service to people.
