Although I feel extremely awkward doing this, a combination of factors have prompted me to start a Gofundme as I can't think of another way to resolve my financial issues.

A few months ago, after some distressing vision issues, I discovered that I have cataracts in both eyes. Unfortunately, because universal health care isn't a thing in the wealthiest country in the world for some reason, even after insurance is applied, each eye has a copay of thousands of dollars. Plus, I won't be able to work as effectively for some time while the eye heals, thereby complicating matters.

I had the first eye done yesterday (happy early birthday to me!) and although it's uncomfortable now, I'm optimistic that I will be able to see colors more effectively again and not have wildly changing eyeglass prescriptions every two months. The second one is scheduled for the end of the month. As pictured, they gave me a cool clear protective eyepatch -- very Lady Gaga pirate chic.

Additionally, Myron, the adorable cheddar biscuit, needed dental surgery earlier in the year, and as such, I had to max out a credit card for that so monthly payments could be made.

I attempted to find a consolidation loan so I could pay off all my debts and have everything in one monthly payment, but since I'm using all of my credit limit, I couldn't get a loan unless I was willing to pay a 34% interest rate, which is more than the credit cards anyway. So, unless I can pay some of the debts, I can't find a solution to acquire enough funds to pay the remaining debts.

Maybe I'll start putting Cromwell on the street corner so he can make money sitting in adorable poses of questionable propriety?
