On February 9th my father, Chris Carson, got into a serious snowmobile accident. As you may have seen on the news, he hit a pressure ridge while crossing a lake in Pittsburg, NH. He was first transported to Colebrook Hospital where they soon discovered his injuries would be better treated at Concord Hospital. Chris spent a long two weeks in the most expensive hospital in town due to his extensive injuries (way to go dad!). His injuries are as follows: Broken left & right legs, broken left ankle, shattered right ankle, and a fractured C7 vertebra…. He is rocking the neck brace if you are wondering! He is currently in a wheelchair with a restriction of no weight for at least three months. After speaking with the doctor he is going to have to learn to basically walk again. He really wanted us to wait on him hand and foot…clearly.
My father is a VERY hard working man. He owns and runs Mountain View Landscaping, where he is the sole employee. He has serviced many repeat customers for the past 30 years. He is very passionate about his work and continues to showcase his amazing patio and rock wall expertise. As we know, owning a business brings many expenses in addition to these hospital bills.
Anyone who personally knows my father knows that he may dig my grave when he sees this, but at least he can’t catch me for a while!
My father is always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, but is extremely stubborn when the roles are reversed. My father is such a caring and hardworking man with a laugh that will permanently be embedded in your brain.
As we prepare for the upcoming months, we are in need of support. My father is not going to be able to work for an extended period of time. His doctors provided a timeline of a year to a year and a half for his recovery. This will include a copious amount of physical therapy and potentially more operations due to ligament damage and nerve damage. We have had many individuals reach out asking what they can do, so here we are humbly asking for support. Thank you for everyone who has supported us along the way, truly it means the world to us. We have a long way to go, but know that we have the best community supporting us.
Much Love & Thanks –
Carlie Carson
