Chris Bains Cancer Diagnosis

I wanted to get an update to everyone. My dad passed on August 9th surrounded by family. He is no longer in any pain and we are comforted to know he is with our Savior and at peace. We ask that everyone continue to pray for our family as we heal from the loss of this amazing man, husband, father and grandfather!

Just last month (July 23’), our dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. At the time he was on the road and away from home as he is a cross country truck driver. With family support, we were able to get my mom out to him and she then drove him home to be with his family. After further testing, the diagnosis is a very aggressive cancer that originated in the colon or lungs and has progressed to his spine. Very quickly after getting him home he lost the feeling in his legs due to the compression fractures on his spine, caused by the tumors. He is currently receiving hospice care and the limited time we have with him is spent showing him as much love and care as we can, with his comfort being priority.

As a family, we are devastated. Chris has been an amazing husband, father and grandfather. Our hearts are breaking because of the suffering he is going through.

Due to his illness, our mom is currently on leave from work and on a very limited income while she is staying by his side. We as a family are giving her all the support we can, but would appreciate anything you are able to provide to assist with their monthly expenses and his medical expenses.

Above all we ask for prayers!! For our dad, for his suffering to ease and prayers for our mom as she is helping her husband through this very difficult time are most appreciated!
