Chris Brien's Stroke Recovery. (USMC) veteran
I had a stroke on 3/14/2019. I've gotten better to move around with my arms and legs but my brain is still damaged from the stroke. Surgery was not able to completely remove the clot. It is uncertain if I will ever fully recover. During this time I had Aphasia which has cost me the ability to go return into IT. I am doing what I can to work on art commissions to make a little extra money, but it is nowhere close to what I need. At this time I'm trying to apply for disability, but it is a long process and is not a guarantee.
Furthermore, my wife is looking for a job at the moment and has been unemployed for about a month. Unfortunately, the best job prospects are in high cost of living areas and rent will be twice the cost it is now. Thanks to some friends (and my Marines, Semper Fi) on Facebook, I was able to pay for another month of rent here and health insurance for about 2 months.
I am raising money to help pay for upcoming moving expenses (movers, security deposit, and first month of rent), as well as ongoing medical treatment. I would not have been in trouble like this if I didn't have a stroke. I was healthy before and did not expect that this would ever happen to me. Anything could help. Thank you all so much! ♥
