Chris Blackwelder (42) beloved husband to wife Emily and father of 3, unexpectedly passed away from a pulmonary embolism on January 30th.
Chris and Emily had built a wonderful life together in Sioux Falls, and loved raising their beautiful family together. Chris lived for his family, and you could often catch him coaching his sons, Payton (14) and Noah (7) in football, basketball, and baseball. For his only daughter, Elizabeth (9), he enjoyed coaching basketball and loved watching her in volleyball and softball. He was, unarguably, their biggest fan!
The unexpected and untimely death of Chris has not only shocked and saddened friends, but immensely shattered the lives of Emily and his family. He was their rock.
To honor Chris' memory, we would like to help Chris' wife, Emily, and his children with some financial relief. Any amount that we, as Chris' family and friends, can provide for Emily, would truly be appreciated.
All monetary donations will be given to Emily to help provide some relief of the financial burdens that come with an untimely death, such as this.
If you can not give financially, please consider saying a prayer for his family. Pray for peace, understanding, and healing as they start to mend the hole left by Chris.
Please keep Chris' family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Thank you,
Canby High School Class of 1997
