Chris has been struggling with his health for the past 30 months. It all started with weight and appetite loss. He has been to numerous doctors and hospitals. He has been turned away by all of them. They couldn't find anything wrong with him BUT, he knew his body. Last year he found a doctor that would remove one of the LUMPS in his next. After the biopsy, it came back cancerous. He went back to his cancer team (he has been there before) just to tell him that there was nothing they could do. So, his mother found another set of doctors. They FINALLY listened. After more testing, Ct scans, MRI's, blood work and a proper PET scan, They found more LUMPS in his neck and one in his chest. He was diagnosed with Sjogren's disease ( pronounced SHOW GRINS). There is no cure(from what he has been told) for Sjogren's. It's when your body can't fight off infection and bacteria. It attacks healthy blood and cells. Chris will endure shots weekly at first then, A pill once a day for the rest of his life to stabilize the disease. He started his first radiation treatment on 1-31-2022. He was diagnosed with Marginal Zone B-cell none Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The past 30 months has taken a financial toll on his family and with treatment just starting it will continue.
