Chris (our friend and yours) .. a friend to anyone turning up to the Black Pear joggers. He was the first to share his enthusiasm for the fun and love of running. The clubs ‘are around you while you found your feet’.

In April 2025 at his 10th London Marathon, Chris suffered a heart attack, followed by a catastrophic stroke. He’s working impossibly hard to get back to his new normal. What we want, is to raise enough money for an all-terrain electric wheelchair. This way we can get him along to track, parkrun and cross country. This is more about what we need than what Chris wants. If you ask him, he’s no charity. He’s far too humble. But stuff him! We need him! Dig deep and share this for all you're worth!
