Chris meet the San Jose Sharks and a T1D player
Donation protected
As most of you know, Chris was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was only 16 months old. By then, he was already a fan of Hockey and the San Jose Sharks. He grew up going to the games, and his “idol” was Joe Thornton.
This week, we were contacted by a bay area Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation representative and offered tickets to an upcoming San Jose Sharks game on December 29th. The amazing offer is because one of their new players, Luke Kunin, is also a Type 1 Diabetic.
We learned that Luke was diagnosed at 12 years old and is a big supporter of Diabetes research and children affected by the disease. We were given this invitation to attend the game and allow Chris an opportunity to meet Luke to show him that the sky truly is the limit.
We are currently living in Idaho and on a somewhat fixed income. We are asking our friends and family for financial donations to help make this happen for Chris. We will need to raise funds to pay for airfare, hotel, car rental, food, and incidentals. We are setting a goal of $3000.00.
If you want to help, we would very much appreciate it! You can donate to our Go Fund Me account or through Zelle (831-320-0862).
We’ve attached a short video showing Chris’ hockey dream becoming a reality. Again, thank you for supporting us and Chris’ dream. He is beyond excited about this opportunity and can’t wait.
Sincerely,
Terry, Isis, Chris, and Matt Bailey
