Chris Arnis Freedom Van

We are the friends of Chris Arnis.  Our dear friend Chris (Arni) was in a ski accident in April of 2015 and had a severe spine inury leaving him in a quadrapalegic state.  Since then, he has been working hard to rehabilitate and has regained some use of his arms and hands.  His wife Cindy and he had bought an old wheel-chair accessable van that was meant to be temporary until he regained use of his legs but it has come to the end of it's life.  A recent road trip proved the hardship that Chris and Cindy go through as she transferred a 200 lb Chris from his wheel chair to the seat in their pickup then back again to go to the hotel.  We thought it would be great if they had a van that they could use for transportation use in town but would also have a bed in the back which was accessible for his wheel chair.  The van would serve two purposes, one as local transportation, the other as the means to explore the country and use as a camper.  We plan to purchase the Ford Transit and have it equipped for his special needs.  This will enable Chris and Cindy to explore the country¹s national parks and use as a camper.  None of us can imagine what it would be like to be in Chris' shoes right now.  This is the one thing that we can do to help him live a partially independent life.
