Chris and Wendy Low: Facing Health Challenges Together

Raising money to help my brother and sister-in-law with medical and living expenses. My brother Chris has been battling numerous medical issues and was in Riverside Medical and Loyola University Hospital for 2 months and then was transferred to Silver Cross a rehab facility. He went into the hospital with stomach issues and was diagnosed Gillian-Barre disease which left him paralyzed and attacked his liver, kidneys and muscles. He underwent months of dialysis and every medical test imaginable. He has been able to regain the use of his upper body but is unable to walk on his own. He’s still undergoing therapy and medical care at home. He recently had to undergo back surgery as well for several back fractures that occurred while hospitalized.

All the while, his wife Wendy has been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a lumpectomy. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and then will have radiation. She has been working and taking care of herself and my brother, and times are very tough, to say the least, with all the bills and one income to try and survive on, as my brother is currently unable to work.
