Over the past two weeks a local Durham family has been struggling. Chris was suffering from headaches for weeks and just related it to work and stress. Sadly it was much more serious. After being rushed to hospital Chris' blood pressure was dangerously high and they found a bleed on the brain. Through grace and strength Chris will survive. He will be sent home soon from St Mikes to recover. Which will likely take months. Chris is the sole financial provider for the family. His wife Natalie cares for their three young children. Without releasing private information unfortunately Chris is not eligible for any loss of wages or disability compensation. They have been financially smart but with no assistance those funds will quickly run out. The stress on this family is enormous and yet they would NEVER ask for help from anyone. This family has been there for others time and time again without ever asking for any recognition or anything in return. As their friends I am asking for this wonderful community to pay it forward.
