Chris and Hannah Parent Medical Bills and Repairs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Luke and I am fundraising for our good friends Chris and Hannah Parent. As some of you may be aware Chris suffered from a brutal injury while repairing his home which had been previously damaged by a storm.
He was trying to install a drop down attic staircase. It trapped his fingers in the main hinge and partially fell through the ceiling.
It took 6 men, an electric saw, and a crow bar to free him safely. His fingers were compressed by 100+ pounds for at least 20 minutes and it was thought for sure he would lose his fingers. Miraculously none are broken. However, pain in both of his hands is excruciating.
He’s back home with his wife and the kids, but his pain is so severe he can’t use his hands. Right now he can move all fingers but cannot grasp or hold anything. He needs to be fed, bathed, dressed, etc. He currently cannot hold his 9 month old baby, or even his own tooth brush.
Chris is not your average husband and dad. If he isn’t working, he is serving his family. He does most of the cooking and all the dishes. He bathes both his kids each night if not working. He changes plenty of diapers, trims tiny toenails, helps feed the children at mealtime, and so much more. He is super dad. And that doesn’t even touch on his military career, or his involvement in his parish. He is the sole provider for his family currently.
He will be meeting with a surgeon next week. I have set an initial goal of 5,000 dollars to help the family with medical and house repair costs, but I will update the goal once I get a more concrete idea of Chris and Hannah’s needs. Any amount helps, along with prayers of course.
The family has also requested prayers for Chris’ recovery, Hannah while she handles everything on her own, their home as it undergoes repairs, and their children as they await their father’s recovery.
