Friends and family,

Chris and I have been asked to serve at a place that is very dear to my heart. It was where I (Dama) went on my first mission trip. In 2022, I was invited through a friend to attend a basketball camp in the middle of remote Alaska. Never did I think that God would use the sport that I love to play as a means for me to share Jesus with others. Tanalian Bible camp is located in Port Alsworth, Alaska. The nearest store is over 100 miles away…by air taxi! That year, the Lord showed me just how strong the unity of His body is. There was an immediate connection between all of the volunteers and camp staff. We all had one goal: love these kids well and make Jesus known to them. The campers are 8th-12th graders from various villages in Alaska and, most of them, from various tribes. These kids have been through more than you could imagine. Most of them do not have a local church in their communities. I loved serving there so much that I went the following year, in 2023. Chris and I got married in May 2024, during the time that the basketball camp took place. We went to South Korea for a mission trip last year, and this year we both feel very eager and compelled to go to Alaska. The camp itself will be from May 27th-June 1st. We would deeply appreciate your prayer for us to be effective stewards of His gospel at this camp. Pray that God will prepare our hearts, minds, and bodies for an environment where spiritual warfare is so evident.

We have also been asked to serve in South Korea once again. As last year, we will be serving in an orphanage in Haenam. These kids feel like their lives have lost purpose simply because they are orphans. They feel ashamed, and try to escape their realities by indulging in sin. When they see Christian leaders return, they sense that we genuinely love and care for them. In turn, Christ’s love for them becomes that much more evident. We will also be running a VBS for a church in Busan. These kids are drastically different. Most of them grew up in the church, and need to be reminded that faith is personal. They have sinned against God and need to trust in the salvation provided through Jesus. We will also be spending time with the college students of that church, encouraging them to continue trusting in and living for Jesus. This trip will be from July 19th-August 1st. The leader of this team has made it so that Chris and I would be able to go for $2,000. The cost of the trip to Alaska is also $2,000. The amount for both trips combined was the cost of the one trip to South Korea last year! We believe that God is the one behind this outcome.
