Chris and Allison's IVF journey

Hi everyone, after years of trying to bring a youngling into our galaxy, Allison and I are going through IVF. I wish having children was easy for Allison and me, but science has proved otherwise.

After getting married in 2021, we did the whole "trying to get pregnant," and after about a year, we felt something was wrong, and we went through IUI treatments VERY hopeful each of the SIX treatments would produce a Sixlet (a baby Six), but those did not work, and that was very defeating, but we never gave up hope.

So now we are starting IVF in late February. With infertility, you rarely hear the father's perspective. For me, not being able to naturally create a child has been hard. As a man I've wanted to provide my wife the ability to carry our child. I've always wanted to have children, to teach them about Star Wars, the Kansas City Chiefs, music of all kinds, and watch them develop their own interests. It's also very important to me to carry on my family name, I have to with my last name! I wanted that, especially by the time I was 30. I'm now 31 going on 32 this year, and we are still struggling.

But, with the help of IVF, we are hopeful to grow our family and create those memories that I get to see many of my friends have with their newborns and toddlers. I'll admit it, I do get jealous when I see pregnancy announcements or birth announcements, I hope that day will come for Allison and I with IVF. You commonly hear about infertility happening in a woman's body, but in our situation, it is primarily in mine. Let's just say I have a few solid soldiers, but they're being overshadowed by sucky soldiers. So, thank you for reading about our journey so far.
