Chris and I started trying to grow our family in February of 2015. The past 4-1/2+ years has been physically, emotionally, and financially draining. We fall under the category of unexplained infertility, meaning the doctors do not have an answer to why we are struggling. We have done all of the recommended testing and everything has came back “normal,” or in other words, we should have had a healthy baby on our own years ago.

We have done months and months of fertility treatments, along with 3 failed IUI procedures. Over the last year we have had a chemical pregnancy, followed by two miscarriages. While those times were incredibly hard and instilled a forever worry in our mind, we are determined to have a family.

At this point our fertility specialist recommends IVF. The cost is not set in stone, but we are looking at a minimum price of 18,000-20,000 Our doctor believes we have a 70-80% chance of having a successful pregnancy and holding a healthy baby at the end of IVF. Without it, we have about a 2-3% chance. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any of the costs associated with the procedure, and this is not an amount of money we have stashed away to be able to afford this on our own.

We are on track for an egg retrieval to be done at the end of November. Chris and I are so excited and are praying we will be able to relay good news to everyone in the not so distant future.
