On behalf of Chris, Alison and Benjamin, thank you so much for taking the time to visit this GoFundMe page. Your support, whether through a donation or simply by sharing, means more than words can express.

Benjamin was born August 30th, 2024. The past year has been the very best thing. We have watched him learn to smile and laugh, watched as he discovered he likes all of the foods, and seen him discover the amazing world of books and music. He loves his bath time and going to the store -- he smiles at everybody! His favorite person hands down is his daddy.

Benjamin is truly the best thing we have ever done.

On September 20th Benjamin suffered a medical emergency at home and was rushed to the emergency room. He was ultimately admitted to the PICU where we received devastating news that he had a large tumor in his brain. Benjamin had brain surgery early the following week. The subsequent days were some of the darkest times we have ever experienced. Benjamin developed an extremely rare complication from his surgery that caused heart failure. He required numerous critical medication drips and intensive monitoring around the clock for several days. During that time, he developed new-onset seizures and blood clots in his limbs, with several traveling into his heart. It was determined at that time another brain surgery was required to help save his life.

While Benjamin continues to show improvement while in the PICU, he still has another fight on the horizon -- cancer treatment. Alison requested leave from work to stay by Benjamin's side through it all. The journey for Benjamin's recovery is just beginning, but the Parrett family is so grateful for the love and support shown by family and friends.
