Bobby
Donation protected
This is Bobby. He is about 6 years old. When he first came into our lives, 4 ½ years ago, he was skin and bones. Not only were his ribs visible, you could also see the vertebrae of his spine. After a vet visit, we found out that in addition to being underweight, he also had chronic hepatitis. Medical intervention and lots of TLC helped to stabilize both those conditions.
As time progressed, we noticed that Bobby was unable to run or jump. X-rays revealed that his hip joints were deformed. The vet recently informed us that on a scale of 1–10, she rated the severity of his condition as a 10. Because of the deformity Bobby is struggling with severe arthritis pain.
The answer to the problem is surgery. The vet has informed us that surgery would allow him to have smooth movement in his hip joints, and a full range of motion. His quality of life would be greatly improved.
We, unfortunately, do not have the money for the surgery and required physical therapy. So, we have started this GoFundMe. If we are unable to get the surgery, the humane thing will be to have Bobby euthanized. Needless to say, we would like him to have the surgery. He is young. He still exhibits a joy for living. He has a great appetite. He is always excited when we come home at the end of the day. He loves being scratched behind his ears. He has fun playing with his toys. Snuggling is his favorite pastime. He is also very jealous of any attention that the cat gets. Other than the hip pain, he is a happy dog.
Will you help us raise the funds to cover Bobby’s surgery and physical therapy? The estimated cost is $4,000. Donations of any amount are welcome, and helpful. No donation is too small. We also ask that you share this GoFundMe with your friends and other animal lovers. Also, please note that any funds that are not required for Bobby’s treatment will be donated to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
We appreciate your consideration.
Sincerely,
Freda Miguel & Evodio Miguel Perez
