We are fundraising money to buy land for chosen charity home floorball pitch and a van.Chosen Charity Home operates the Chosen Charity Floorball Team, a registered team under the Uganda Floorball Association (UFA), based in Kanyanya along Gayaza Road, Kampala. The team brings together young men and women from Kanyanya and the surrounding areas, many from humble backgrounds, who train three times a week and are united by a shared commitment to discipline, teamwork, and the growth of floorball as a sport in Uganda.
The team has represented Uganda in regional exhibitions and is working to establish Ugandan floorball on the wider East African stage. As part of Chosen Charity Home's broader mission — to become the preferred children and young adults' charity organization in Uganda and the East African region.
The team's single greatest constraint is land and transportation. On every training day, players must walk long distances, crowd into public taxis, or rely on boda bodas (motorcycle taxis) to reach the training ground. This has several direct consequences:
• Players arrive exhausted before training has even begun, undermining the quality and safety of sessions.
• Some players miss training entirely because they cannot afford transport fares.
• Players — particularly younger members — face safety risks travelling after dark.
• Equipment (sticks, balls, goals, and kits) is at risk of damage or loss when carried on public transport.
• Inconsistent transport contributes to player drop-out, weakening the team's long-term development.
