Chosen by Oxford University – Help Me Get There!

Hi everyone
I wasn’t sure I’d ever write something like this, but here I am — asking from the heart.
I was recently selected out of thousands of applicants to attend the *Oxford Consortium for Human Rights* in England this July. When I found out, I cried. It was one of the biggest things that’s ever happened to me!
This conference is not just any event. It’s held at Oxford University, one of the world’s most prestigious institutions, and brings together students, scholars, and leaders from across the globe to tackle urgent human rights issues like war and climate emergencies. Being chosen means I’ll be learning from and networking with experts and advocates who are shaping international policy and humanitarian efforts — a rare chance to grow and contribute on a truly global stage.
But here’s the part I didn’t expect: after the joy and celebration, I found out the trip wouldn’t be fully funded. That wasn’t made clear until after I was chosen. I felt crushed — like I’d been handed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and then told I might not be able to take it.
So, I scrambled. I was told that I needed to look for outside funding. I applied for more funding and thankfully received a $1,000 scholarship from the Fund for Education Abroad!!!!
But I still need $3,000 to cover the rest of the travel and lodging costs. And I just don’t have it right now.
This conference means the world to me. It focuses on human rights during war and climate disasters — the kind of stories I am passionate about. I want to use my voice to shed light on what’s happening around the world — especially where people are forgotten. I want to learn. Learning is one of my largest passion.
I hate asking for help. But I can’t do this alone.
If you’re able to donate anything — truly, anything — it would mean so much. If you can’t, sharing this with someone who might is just as powerful. Even $5 would be extremely helpful.
Thank you for believing in me, for being here, and for helping me make this dream real. I’m still in shock that I was chosen. I just hope I can actually get there!
I only have 2 months left and I'm desperate! Thank you so much!!!
With all my heart,
