Help Chorlton Cof E Create a New Library Space

Hi I’m Marketta a mum to 2 daughters at Chorlton C of E , a parent governor and an enthusiastic supporter of the school. I’ve set up this page with the support and permission of the school and PTA to help raise funds for a new school library! Please join me in making a real difference for all the children at Chorlton Cof E.

Your donations will help fund a totally new fit for purpose Library for the children to enjoy utilising a space previously used for coats and bags, and every penny will help! Don’t forget to select gift aid if you’re eligible so even more can be raised!

Why do we need a new library? ….

Unfortunately the previous school library had to be repurposed 2 years ago to create space for a much needed and utilised breakout area to support the growing number of kids with additional needs at school. This area was refurbished over summer to create the Nurture Nest a calming space where children can be safe and comfortable while they regulate their emotions. This was funded by the PTA and volunteers giving their time and resources and it helped inspire the new library vision.

The contents of the Library were moved to the Arts space in the basement of school and the corridor leading to it, but this space is less accessible as it is away from classrooms. It was seen as a short term move at the time while the space and resources were found to develop and create a new library. We are now in a position to do this and following a tender of several options we have chosen to proceed with a woodland scheme for the library that will be delivered by the same fabulous team of parents and friends of the school that refurbished and created the Nurture Nest.

Any funds raised here will be added to the £5,000 pot already raised from PTA events in 22/23 and the money donated here will be used to finish off the library …to decorate, add soft furnishings and seating , murals, and other finishing touches that will make the it a really special, calm space to explore books and develop a love of reading

We are applying for grants to help with books but will utilise any funds raised above the refurbishment costs to help update the variety of books available. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to everyone at the school.
