Hi Everyone,
It’s hard to reach out and ask for help, but for our cat Chopper, that’s what we’re doing. Chopper is only 4 years old, and while we would not normally do something like this, I cannot imagine losing him so soon.
On Saturday, October 4th, I noticed Chopper was not himself. He was hiding, in pain, and that’s when I noticed he was straining to urinate. I brought him into Bulger, where I currently work as a technician, and we found out Chopper had a urinary blockage. On Monday, October 6th, after pulling his urinary catheter, we noticed Chopper straining again. He had blocked for a second time. Another urinary catheter was placed, and this morning, October 8th, when it was pulled, Chopper was blocked again. For this situation, it is literally life or death. We have decided to pursue PU surgery, Perineal Urethrostomy Surgery, to give Chopper one last chance.
I have never in my life met a cat like Chopper. He is easily the sweetest, most loving boy. When you walk into my house, he is always there to greet you, expecting tons of love and maybe some treats. He loves to be cradled and is always next to me every night when I go to bed. Chopper and his sister Jyn have been inseparable since birth. I know Jyn is missing her brother immensely.
We appreciate any donations, or if you don’t mind sharing our story, that would also be enough. Again, we would not normally do something like this, but Chopper is a one-of-a-kind special boy. Any donations received will go to his hospital stay over the past few days and his surgery. We thank you for your support!
