Choosing to live! Life is full of tough choices.

Two years ago when I was pregnant, my mom was diagnosed with colorectal stage 2 cancer. In MN where she lives only western medicine is  available for cancer treatment as surgery - chemotherapy with radiation. Naturopaths cannot be licensed in this state. Must travel out of state for alternative cancer treatments. My mom has not been able to afford travel or time away from new employer for healing and has had to keep her whole diagnosis a secret.

She accepted chemo & radiation in hopes of eradicating tumor. It did diminish, but not resolve. She refused surgical removal of rectum which was only treatment available there followed by IV chemo thru a port.  She self medicated with Essiac & Laetrile along with serious supplementation, meditation, lifestyle changes. Sadly symptoms have worsened along with new maladies resulting directly from radiation, the consequences of which were not disclosed prior to treatment. Struggling to work. She’s in desperate need to find a clinic practicing natural healing, take time away from work to travel to & heal if at all possible.

If you know anything about me and our journey, you know it has not been easy to say the least.  I moved away from Minnesota over 5 years ago.  I have had a long rebuild of a severely strained/broken relationship with my mom.  From what we’ve already made it through....  we can make it through anything.

Heres the most beautiful thing she wrote me in September.
title:  courage

I have to tell you, honey, that when I was forced to learn about managing a disease (chemical dependency) I wondered why you were handed such a harsh and critical lesson to learn in your life.  While I learned about it with you, I did not have to experience it deeply and personally, only as a onlooker who loves you, cares about your well being, and who was responsible for you at the time.  Little did I know that this same experience would serve me in this situation where I am affected by a disease.  I want you to know that I am aware of the tremendous and constant effort you make to keep yourself safe and healthy.  And the self respect and love you treat yourself with.  You are watched over and guided by angels.  Continuous prayer, day-long and in the middle of the night when awakened, consistently repeated affirmations, positive and motivational readings, and reinforcement have become my life to keep fear and negativity at bay and keep my heart and mind strong.  Learning to relax and nurture myself.  As you have overcome the temptation of relapse, I must also keep my heart and mind strong and open to love, allowing only good and peace - healing to infuse me.  It is not easy, but nothing ever has been, so at least I've had lots of practice working VERY hard.  Just another problem to solve, perhaps a little more difficult than the last.  I love you, honey, and am so very proud of you.  And your BEAUTIFUL family!  Blessings and LOVE.  All my heart, Mama
