Choir Kids Need Suitcases for DC Trip
Donation protected
By way of introduction, my name is Lisa Screeton and I have started a middle school concert choir and show choir program at Ed Von Tobel Middle School in Las Vegas, NV. Our students come from dire economic circumstances, but our Principal supports opening the world through the arts and we are creating as many opportunities as possible.
In February, we will travel to Washington, DC to sing a program of music by Moses Hogan on the steps of the Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial and at the Washington Monument in honor of Black History Month on President’s Day, February 17, 2025. We have discovered loads of talent among these children and are seeing some inspired to delve further into performing arts as possible career choices.
We are trying to find suitcases for each student that relieves a burden from families - some of whom are homeless - and will be cared for by the school in perpetuity so that students each year will have a necessary item with which to travel and represent their community and school.
