Chennai Flood Relief Fund

We all have heard that life can turn upside down in a moment. We are experiencing it right now through our own kith and kin at Chennai. 

Chennai - also known as Madras - is our home town and it has received the worst rain fall and flooding of the century. While we always have fond memories of this city of our childhood, it breaks our heart to see and hear stories about people suffering on the streets today.
Lost lives, Lost homes , Lost communities - One thing that lives on is the spirit of Chennai.

We - Sundar Rangarajan, Ram Rangarajan, Vidhya Vasudevan and Sridevi Krishnan - are children of Chennai and want to give back to our city that so deserves to regain its lost sheen. 



Now is the time spread some cheer and help Chennai get back on its feet.
We will account for every penny of your hard earned money by wiping tears of the needy and bringing a smile back on their faces.

Tamil sage Thiruvalluvar says

Gofundme team wants to ensure we run a clean/transparent  campaign  and asked us to answer a few questions

1.       We (Sundar Rangarajan and Vidhya Vasudevan) originally grew up in Chennai and have been living in the United States for the past several years. We are both US permament residents

2.       We are raising money to  donate to folks affected by Chennai rain/floods

3.       With the funds raised,  our first plan of action is to help the people (relatives, friends and neighbors) in our neighborhood at Ekkaduthangal, Chennai  This includes

a.       Reclaiming their homes from water damage

b.      Compensate for lost property like bedding, kitchen appliances, books , clothing, toiletries and resume to normalcy

c.        Pay for restoring  plumbing and electrical damages

   We also plan to use  some portion of the money to donate to other NGO’s who are doing active volunteering work all around Chennai
