Hi everyone, my name is Jade and alongside my siblings Akalia, Aissatou, Anthony & Nando, I am reaching out to the community for support to help rebuild our father’s home in Jamaica.

Located in the beautiful parish of Westmoreland, our father’s home was damaged by Hurricane Melissa. When the hurricane hit, our father and his wife were barricaded in the home they shared for more than 30 years - witnessing its destruction and stricken by fear. As their children, we hope to rebuild the home that we have shared countless memories in restoring a little piece of our family history.

It is such a devastating situation, and even more difficult as all 5 of us are living abroad in Canada and the U.S. We wish nothing more than to be on the ground with our parents to support and help them through this time. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot be in Jamaica. We hope that we can show our support through these funds raised and goods sent home.

Our primary goal is to acquire funds to help with rebuilding the home. Funds will be allocated to purchasing materials for the windows, doors, roof and overall restoration of the home. Damage encurred included great flooding destroying everything within the home as well, furniture, bedding, electronics etc.

Monetary contributions will all help with labour costs related to rebuilding the house as well as shipping fees related to sending essential items back home. Together we can not only rebuild our father’s home but reach the greater Belmont community as well.
