I'm Chloe and I'm 18, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia when I was one. I've been in remission for 15 yrs but I got severe complications from my bone marrow transplant and something called Bronchiolitis Obliterans. Due to the progression the BO in my lungs, I needed a double lung transplant in June of 2022. However, I developed organ rejection (BO once again) and unfortunately also end stage lung failure. I was then deemed terminal. The only potential of a treatment, although not a cure, is a repeat double lung transplant.
With all the major risks aside, the financial burden of the whole process is incredibly overwhelming. I have been admitted in the hospital since November.
I have finally received my lung transplant and will have to stay locally for a month before I can return home. All of the funds will be used for housing, food, travel costs, out of pocket medical fees, etc.
Any amount is greatly appreciated and I am so thankful for all the support!
